It All Started in 1783…

The unincorporated area of Seymour dates back to 1783, when it was known as the site of Newell’s Station. During the 19th century, the area became known as Trundles Crossroads, where the main road from Sevierville forked—one branch going north to Knoxville and one going west to Maryville. Today, the name 1783 is a reminder of our area’s roots and the history that came before us.
